Today is Patriots Day in Massachusetts and Maine (once a part of Massachusetts).
This holiday commemorates the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, the first battles of the American Revolutionary War. The “Shot Heard ‘Round The World” was fired on April 19, 1775.
There was a large reenactment in Lexington, MA, this morning. You can see photos, courtesy of the Boston Globe, here.
